Homemade Teardrop Camper
I found this homemade teardrop camper in KSL Classifieds and I was attracted to the bright yellow.
See their description and more photos after the break:
This awesome true classic style teardrop trailer was built by my brother in law (a professional welder) and myself (a professional woodworker) and finished last fall. We built it in order to raise money to build two more, one for each of us.
It has been camped in once by a friend of ours and his 5 year old boy. The original plastic is still on the mattress.
This trailer weighs only 950 lbs, and can be towed by any car, truck or SUV. It pulls wonderfully and you can almost not feel it at all, even at 85 MPH. It also does amazingly well off-road, as we tested it on some roads up in the Mantua camping area.
The kitchen has a two burner stove that runs on Coleman fuel (white gas) a sink and a 5 gallon water tank.
These are designed to be extremely economical, simplistic, and surprisingly commodious. Come take a look, even pull it around for a minute with your vehicle.
I love the bright color and I truly miss having a teardrop of my own.
